This salary cannot be measured in monetary terms. Even in terms of teaching the salary is different for the various levels of teachers. Is Teaching A Good Career
The importance of teachers can not be overemphasized. However, teaching is not everyone’s cup of tea. Teaching can be taken up as a career only by those who actually love teaching and love children because you will be with the children almost all the time. A teacher needs to be really patient, compassionate, passionate, understanding, tuned into the needs of the learners and very importantly adjusting and willing to change. Just having the knowledge alone is not enough, for a teacher to be effective, he should be able to come down to the level of the learner and make the subject matter interesting and comprehensible to the students.
Why Teacher Is Important
The role of a teacher in our life and society cannot be overemphasized. They lay the foundation stones for the future of the nation. One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world says Malala Yousafzai which just about sums up the importance of teachers.
Even though teachers at each stage are important the kindergarten teachers have a very important role to play as they are laying the foundation for the future formal education the child will receive.
The Success Of Early Childhood Education
Parents, school, teachers, all play an important role in molding the life of a child. The parents are the first mentors of any child. They learn a lot by observing their parents and also their immediate surroundings. The preschool and kindergarten teacher is a mother figure for the child as they take the first steps independently in the outside world. The teacher or parent; who is a more important figure in a child’s life is a difficult question to answer as each has a different role to play.
Role of parents
A child’s education starts at home. The parents are the first teachers and they play a key role in shaping the child’s character. Parental encouragement plays a crucial role in successful students. Children observe, behave, react and imitate the parents and those in immediate surroundings. Hence, one should always try to be a role model to instill good morals in the child. Good parental support helps the child to be positive, healthy and a lifelong learner and this starts from a very early stage itself.
Role of kindergarten teachers
Kindergarten School, as well as teachers, have an important role to play in the early development of an individual. This is where the child is leaving the safe and secure environs of his home and taking the first tenuous independent steps into the world. The teachers give the children the chance to socialize with other children, they learn: more about themselves, solve problems, build confidence, and discover their individual talents. In addition to teaching the children the basic letters, shapes, reading, and writing the teacher also teaches them to share and care with others, basic manners, small responsibilities, etc. They play an important role in molding young minds and creating better citizens of tomorrow.
Teacher parent relationship
Trust, faith and mutual understanding and respect between the parents and teacher is a real secret of a child’s happy learning. Support and cooperation from parents towards the teacher helps to connect. understand and work towards a child’s development. It leads the child to be positive towards attending school and create a better environment for learning, hence it is very important to have a good teacher-parent relationship.
Early childhood education is critical to the success of children but outstanding teachers are the ones who have allowed children to learn and grow while nurturing curiosity and leading to a child’s development through the first years in school.
